Island Strike
A downloadable game for Windows
My third game. Made for the Tenth Legion Games. <<Learning Project>> Game heavily inspired by Desert Strike 1992 for the Sega Genesis. I've tried to recreate the classic experience but with a bit of a fresh touch. Well, it turned out pretty well, I hope, but with a couple of bugs.
CONTROLS:
W,A,S,D - to move
Mouse - to rotate the helicopter
Left Mouse Button - to shoot cannon
Right Mouse Button - to shoot rockets
<<Stay above the cargo to lower the winch and get the cargo or fuel.>>
OBJECTIVE:
- Destroy 2 Radar Antennas.
- Find and bring back the Special Cargo
Launching:
- Launches in window mode 720p with 60fps locked.
- No HTML5 version, cause it will kill all the light.
BUGS:
- Please don't die with the cargo, it will break the game.
- Some small visual issues with the Helicopter winch (it stays in the lower position)
- There is definitely more, but not so crucial, I think. Let me know what bugs u've encountered.
THINGS THAT I RAN OUT OF TIME TO DO:
- Objectives
- Sound design
- Small polishing, like the marker under the helicopter, to represent the actual position above the cargo
- Some small story elements
- Cannon and rockets aim for the clear
Have fun. I really would like to finish this project, depending on what you guys think about it.

My video playing island strike:
Wow! I didn't expect that:)))) I would say that - yeah, there are still some bugs over there - that could potentially be fixed ^_^ You should probably take a look on my recent game https://oneunitgames.itch.io/farm-on-mars it is definitely more refined bug-wise :)) And I've already started to work on a new game - that I have a month (27 day's) to make, and it should be a more descent experience but the end. Hope to get into SteamNext Fest with it, but we'll see. Great, thanks for playing my game and making a video about it :)
Nice game! I would love to see this more developed! Some dumb opinions: I think it would be nicer if it was just a little bit easier, the way we aim with the little cars lasting a lots of shots is a bit annoying, I ended trying to catch the cargo without fighting! I think that not having a marker to catch the cargo is nice since it is a fun challenge to catch the box, but a bigger hitbox would make it easier and fun! And since we are going from A to B and back to A it can get repetitive, a way to move faster could help! Sorry for the long comment and the not asked for opinions XD, I really liked the game! Hope to see more!
Thank you for your response. First comment I've got on my games:)))) The project itself was pretty tight on a deadline - I've got only 7 days to do it.
I agree with you on a difficulty level, it could be easier for sure, especially if I would finish the navigation and objectives part.
-In the original game you they had an auto aim mechanic kinda ( if you face the enemy or object gun will automatically aim at the target ) - didn't have time to make it even though it was in on my list.
-Agree with the marker under the helicopter for the cargo, it will definitely make it way easier, maybe a really bigger hitbox will help, need to try it in my free time.
-There is a bit of backtracking here with the cargo delivery - so it feels and repetitive and boring a bit. Mostly my game design mistake, I think there are some better decisions that could be applied here as well.
Very glad to see constructive feedback, great thanks for that. I'll be doing my last small learning project in the next 7days, and then proceed with the bigger game and, most importantly more solid game that I'll spend a month working on. So more games are coming soon.
